Can I Change The Drive In My 360

had a 360 with ms28 drive that 360 died now got a 360 with hitachi can i just replace the hitachi one with my ms28, i been told by someone to do the following

- read the key of the Hitachi
- read the flash of the MS28
- replace the MS28 key with the Hitachi's key
- spoof the MS28 fw as Hitachi
- reflash the spoofed and key changed MS28 fw

has anyone sucessfully completed changing there drive

Yes, and you should`ve searched.
There is a great tutorial that shows you how to do it step by step.

Unless there is a reason to use the Samsung MS28... you could just..

1.  Read the flash of the Hitachi
2.  Copy Key into iXtreme firmware
3.  Flash firmware to Hitachi

Seems a lot simpler to me.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

BTW:  At the top of the forum "Please read before asking any questions"  has the tutorial mentioned above.
