I have a via VT6421A pci card where I'm trying to flash my second 360 (hitachi v59, first was a 79 and went well). I get it to modeB with the wire trick (all symptoms of modeB is there) and when windows finishes loading, it cannot detect the drive. Also, I checked device manager and it gave me the error "This device cannot be started (code10)". I then tried updating the driver to vraid driver 550b but still, same error.

Do you have any idea what I can do to get this drive detected or for it NOT to have that code 10 junk? Thank you so much for you help.

I have the same problem.

I got my hitachi 59 drive into modeB using the wire trick. The Device status on my vt6421a card says: This device cannot start. (Code 10). I also tried using different version drivers with no luck.

I'm running on XP using an old Dell Dimension 2400. Can it be that this computer is too old?

Before I changed my motherboard, I had exactly the same thing. My VIA 6421 card was only good for Samsungs. I had to use the onboard NForce 4 SATA chipset for everything else..

...so, if you've got an NForce chipset, try running the drive from this instead.

Thanks. I ordered another card. If that still don't work then I'll try on a friend's computer.
