what is the easiest way to connect to my pc from XMBC and play movies from the hdd of my computer? i've looked all over the forums but just have found things that i couldn't put together really or that didn't work.
i'm running an ftp server on my pc, whenever i try connecting to it, i get this

my format of connecting to the pc is like so, xns://user:
[email protected]:21
i've tried "ftp" instead of "xns" like it normally is on computers only. and i know my ftp is set up right because others have connected to in on the internet. should i not use my local ip?
