Remove Sata Hdd Before Flashing?
« on: May 16, 2007, 01:57:00 PM »

I want to flash a m25 (i already read tuts and watched vids).
I have a nforce4 chipset with a SATA HDD connected to the primary SATA-port. Should I set it to port 2/3/4 or should I just remove it ( can I still boot in dos then)?.
Another question: I'm using XBM 0.5.3 RC2. Does XBM create a special version of MTKFlash for Nforce4 automaticaly? (I read i would need a nforce4 version of MTKFlash).

Would be better to remove the HDD to avoid confusion.

Yeah, your not booting DOS from the HDD. If you are using a CD disc then you would not be able to dump it to the HDD, but very few use a CD for DOS.

Yes, that is what XBM was created for, to hex MTKflash for people that can't/don't know how to hex edit for themselves. You don't need any MTKflash files, just XBM to make the hexed MTKflash.
