Total Running Time Of My Videos Is Wrong

using the current version of xbmc 1.0 (8/7) when I view the total running time of any program I'm watching it's always less than what it should be.  Half hour programs indicate fifteen minutes.  Is there a setting I need to adjust ?

99.9% sure your program have VBR sound. (variable bitrate)

IF it had cbr (vonstant bitrate) it would be spot on with the time, but it can never ever be with VBR.
