how are you determining its a bad burn? pop it in your pc and and it should play the "put this disc in an xbox 360 console" video. what are you trying to do in the first place?

I am trying to get windows to read drive so i can backup my originals.. So if i put the 0800 disc into my pc it should play "put this disc in a xbox 360 console" ? i know i seen that on one of the disc when i popped it into the 360. when then drive was hooked backup to the xbox board. But cant get windows or bios to read drive.

*** ok i just got the pc to read the disc and says put into the xbox so thats a good burn..

if your xbox gives you the "put this disc in a xbox 360 console" thats cause the sata cable is supposed to be unplugged from the xbox drive. when you insert the disc.

ok good its a good burn, also your xbox wont say anything when the disc is inserted.  you need to turn off your xbox and pc, then turn on the xbox first with pc cable plugged in. pop in the 0800 disc wait till you hear the laser stop reading, a good minute or so then eject. then boot your computer with xbox on,  it should show up then. keep in mind you want to ground your pc case to your xbox case as well.

I put the disk in the drive and it sounds like it working fine and all but still hangs on bios screen then comes into vista like its all good and still no drive. heres the process i been doing

1.Make sure both are powered off and then have sata cable plugged in (and tried OUt)
2. Power on xbox let drive spin down
3.Eject drive and power on PC
$.Wait for drive in Vista nothing..

Any ideas?

thanks for the reply. I just read this somewhere but cant remember(one of the backup faqs)
**The lastest iXtreme Samsung FW will not allow you to rip (extract) games with any software (XBCreator, schtrom, IsoBuster...). You will need to reflash to 5.3 or acquire a Sh-D162C(ide)/SH-D163A(sata) for your PC in order to backup games.
could this be why Im not seeing the drive at all in windows?
