Trying to flash a hitachi, but getting strange errors when booting Slax.

-X360 Drive Brand and Model: Hitachi v78
-Motherboard/PCIcard Model: VIA VT6421A PCI
-Slax version: 2.1

The sata card worked to flash a Samsung drive, but isn't quite working for the Hitachi (I can't get it into modeb).  Do I need a different PCI card?  My motherboard doesn't have sata.

I've got the same card and was using slax too. tried everything I could think of but no luck. if you get it working please let me know.  I've read posts where guys with the same card had no problems, just my bad luck I guess.

ello,

I was wondering if this could work:

x360 brand/model: it's the Hitachi 0078FK one sad.gif
mobo: A7N8x-Deluxe (not the e version) with a Sil 3112 SATARaid controller
Slax: whatever could work

I'm perhaps planning to purchase the VIA SATA card (I can use the storage space as well, lol smile.gif)

My x360 has actually already been flashed but I have no clue whatsoever as to what version. Should have done it myself but I thought wth .. I'll take no risks. But now with the new release I might consider doing it myself. Can I still recover my original key from my drive should I do the mod myself? (edit: k, last part is doable. http://forums.xbox-s...owtopic=593705)).
And one other question while I'm at it ... can I use the same firmware for any other Hitachi drive to flash mine? Or is it a special one. And I understand that there will be some waiting involved for the 5.3 Hitachi firmware. Anyway, this is a noob question .. haven't done much research yet.

I have a MB based on the Intel 945G Express Chipset.   I have already hunted both Google and here and have not found out if this is the conclusive NO this can not flash a MS(25|28).

Can anyone help my inability to figure this out?

I'm trying to locate a a via 6421 pci sata card for my PC but my local PC shop doesn't even know what it is.  Hoo-ray for the advanced rural community I live in.

Should work fine, make sure you use the ICH sata controller.

Neither Sil 3112 chipset nor ALi M5289 chipsets (SATA) work for flashing my 78fk Hitachi. Sil card cannot read from the drive and ALi chipset simply freezes the pc. I need a UK-based (preferrably) SATA PCI card that will work for flashing this drive yet have not seen a single mention of one yet.

Hi. I am a "noob" xbox modder so I really would appreciate any help you can give me. I have the intel 82801EB chipset on a MSI 848p neo2-v mobo. Is this a problem? If not, are there any particular issues I have to address? Havent opened my xbox yet to see what drive i have but will this chipset work for both? Thanks in advance!!!

hey guyzzz i have ASROCK 775VM800 mobo with SATA ports available... the only doubt i have is that is my MOBO compatible to flash my xbox 360... when i used extreme bootmaker and click on one of the LIST buttons it detected my ID & IO number and displayed VIA RAID SATA controller... so does that i mean my mobo supports flashin of xbox 360...

well here is a link for the specifications of my mobo...

h**p://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=775VM800

i have XBOX 360 SAMSUNG MS 28 drive.
