Yes, definitely try changing the pci slot ( you will need to redo  XBM for the new port info) and use the SATA socket toward the front of the PC,
I am assuming you tried both XBM 3.6 and 5.3 , a new sata cable,
also tried starting boot the PC to dos and X360 and then connecting the sata cable (so after the pc is in dos but before typing the command), tried another PC.

Cannot see the link to that other card.

360 Drive: Samsung MS28
Motherboard: EVGA nforce 680i
SATA controller: nForce 590 (detected by Windows)

Anyone had experience with this combination? Edited mtkflash gets stuck after I select my port. I tried to turn 360 off and on, same thing

@Meanee

Not good, MS28 requires Via chipset!!

either you have it on your PC or you need to by a SATA PCI card with VIA6421 chipset on it.

Wanted to see if my onboard sata connections would work on any drives. Also wanted to see if I need to set anything when using the VIA card. I do not use raid on my pc so it is disabled already, but I wasnt sure if the via card had raid settings that needed to be disabled.

I tried slax 2.1 with my hitachi 59dj but couldnt get into mode b for some reason, so I got the connectivity kit and will try that once it arrives (hopefully tonight)

Mainly asking a few question to prepare myself for future flashings

-X360 Drive Brand and Model: Hitachi-LG 59DJ  but I also have a few samsungs my friends want done

-Motherboard/PCIcard Model: Asus p5b deluxe
-Chipset on Motherboard/PCIcard Model: P965 and I have the VIA pci card from newegg that everyone was recommending
-Slax version: 2.0 or 2.1

The PCI Via card will work good for all drives.  Your motherboard chipset does not matter in this case.

-X360 Drive Brand and Model: TS H943: F/W - MS25
-Motherboard/PCIcard Model: VANTEC eSATA 2-Port SATA Cardbus Adapter
-Chipset on Motherboard/PCIcard Model: (Do not know)

Going to use Xtreme Bootmaker v0.3.6, Xtreme F/W 5.2

Basically I would like to know if this PCMIA SATA Card will work with my laptop to flash my drive.
