Does it support bitsetting your booktype to DVD ROM?

Will it burn DVD+R DL disks?

If yes to both then it is worth a try! Use Verbatim DVD+R DL; if you have a problem you will know it was not a disk failure.

there should be more to the model then that, that is merely the manufacturer and the fact that its a dvd-ram. my GUESS would be that your burner only can handle single layer discs, but if you right click the drive and do properties, you should be able to find the model number. once you have that, you can google for it and see if its capable of burning dual layer dvd+r/-r

Has anyone else got this drive to work with burning xbox 360 backups? From what I have read on the net this drive does not support bitsetting. I just bought a new laptop and this is the drive I have. Just wondering if anyone had tried this before I waste a good disc to try it out.

If you're using x 5.2 firmware, bitsetting does not apply... so it should work fine

Huh ? Afaik all FW versions require you to set booktype to dvd-rom when burning backups or they won't boot.

moocher is correct, the latest 5.2 f/w doesnt require dvd-rom to boot, although is always helps the drive read the disc easier.  so people with picky drives might still need the dvd-rom feature when burning backups.
