Im thining my floor is weak. My apartment is shi.... i mean crappy. The floor kinda.... it's loud to walk around it, you know what I mean? It's not shaking a lot, but maybe JUST enough to make the entertainment center wobble just 1/10th inch.... plausable?
Common in old houses with wood floors. It wouldn't take alot of vibrations. My cousins PC suffers much the same in his house. 15k later his problem went away.. but before the reno to the house.. anyone walking in the room.. cause everyone else to feel the floor move.. and the PC DVD drives and sometimes HD would fail.
Sometimes it's the little things people don't think about. If moving the hardware you suspect isn't possible.. you might be able to buffer it from the vibrations. I'm sure someone here will have some good ideas to that end.

Man, I dont want lose my warranty, I still got time on it..... but I want to put those tommy rubber stoppers in there. I guess I will rock the d-skins until then. More and more reasons to get a later version 360....
later versions of 360.. or any console will not guarantee you won't get scratched disks.
I'm also not a fan of Dskins or similar concepts. As Twisted noted.. adding any layers.. no matter the quality will add to the work and wear and tear on the laser. That can only do one thing, shorten the life of the layer.
Simple rule of thumb I live by. New electronics.. test with dummy/tossaway disks. If it don't scratch under normal use.. it probably won't down the road unless it's be coaexed into doing so.
Assuming it passes.. and you start using it... don't leave disks in the console when off. Period. Don't leave any disk in the 360 when not using it. Playing Arcade? remove the disk.
If a disk isn't in the machine.. it can't get accidently buggered from a vibration.. a slight bump.. or go forbid a manufacturing defect like a loose component.
Other warning like don't move while a disk is in it.. (forget even if it's on.. if the disk is in it, even idle, remove it.. and then change the orientation.) go without saying.. (just did though.. hmm..)
9/10 issues I see on this board still are user error. (and user avoidable)
