360 On Non Hdtv.
« on: November 10, 2005, 03:42:00 PM »

OK preordered months ago.

Have decent 50 inch NON HDTV, how bad of a hit will graphics take vs HD?

Did the XBOX reach graphical capabilities of standard TVs and in order to see improvements, must we move to HD?

I mean there has to be a point that consoles will out resolve standard tvs and in order to see any visual improvements one must upgrade tvs.  Are we there yet?

Yes and no.
You can still play every 360 game on your TV. So you dont have to buy a new one. But, it will look tremendously better if you do.

well for the most part, 360 will look just like your current counsel looks on that set so no loss right

HD is an added option in the latest counsels so if you have one, you'll never go back, you dont know what your missing, but if your say using svid now with xbox 360 on svid wont be any worse on your tv, although and unfortunatley svid on say a 32" CRT will look cleaner thatn svid on your 50" projection, so if you dont plan on getting an HD tv set, id plan on moving your counsel to a smaller CRT and you will get a cleaner picture

id rather use the composite input on my $20.00 pc tv tuner and play on my pc monitor for xbox then svid on my 55 wide projection

its possible you tv might have unofficial resolutions it can display that it doesnt officially support(like my tv can display a 1024x768i image but the best it officially supports is 640x480i, i hope 360 has options to let me max my tv)
