0002 Error Code?
« on: January 27, 2008, 10:16:00 PM »

Hey guys.. I got the dreaded 3 red lights on a buddies system.. tried the 3 penny trick (and i noticed that they ram chips already had double sided tape (without only one sticky side aplied) on the ram chips.. i removed and did the 3 penny trick.. fired up the system and still same 3 lights so i check the code and she spits out 0002 to me.. look it up.. network interface error:S:S.. this system has never even had a network adapter/cable close to it..lol..

did a search and found that it could be missing resistors/caps/ect so  i checked and didn't see anything.. but there is a lot to look for..

Does anyone have any ideas on how i can fix this?

Hi,

This error has nothing to do with the network interface. Just loosen the screws on the x-clamps as they are too tight.

Cheers

Are you sure it has nothing to do with the network? Because I never even put the x clamp screws back in and I lossened all screws on the bottom casing and it still gives me the same error! 0002

Anyone have any other ideas?

I have this error aswell, use to get the 0102 then got this. When I turn the 360 on the fan starts for like 2 seconds then stops and it never heats up.

0022 here as well, imo i think it is Gpu related.I have tried EVERYTHING but nothing worked.More needs to be learnt about this one.I have hardly heard a single success story related to this one.

Hi,

I will try and replicate this error over the weekend, I've had it before and repaired it.
I have repaired over 30 consoles that had 0102 errors, a few turned into 0002.

Will update soon.

What i will say is: Put it all back together with all the screws in, just don't do them up tight - Screw the small black heatsink screws in up to when they get tight, then undo by 1-2 turns. Now put the casing all back together.

Now start up with all cables fitted, if you still get ring of death make sure the fans are running and then leave it running for 5-10 mins, now power off and straight back on again.

Let me know how you get on.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Tried it...nothing! I think in my own situation im looking at something that needs physically re-soldering rather than overheating plus 0022 is one error where it is actually rather hard to get it to over heat since it shuts down before it is actually hot almost as if it already thinks its hot when it isnt???!!!
Im about given up on mine but im still curious so ill keep posting.

Hi,

Did you do the x-clamp fix, if so did you remove the old heatsink compound and put new compound on the CPU/GPU?

it must be cpu error..

Maybe some capacitors under cpu are missing? Or just check resistors around cpu
