Connect Xbox360 Straight To PC, But With Router?

i was wondering if its possible to connect my xbox 360 to my pc in my room, because the router is in another room far away. I can't afford the wifi thing, isn't there a way to just configure a few things and get on it through an ethernet cable to my computer? I don't understand why it doesn't work, my PC is on the router too...

I have a wireless router Draytek Vigor 2800VG.

EDIT: I think its to do with getting on the 192.168.1.1 site and changing a few things and adding some IPs, could someone run it through with me? I can't find it on any of the guides.

Thanks A LOT!

1st room: main computer (not mine) + wireless router

2nd room: my computer + xbox 360.

any ideas?

nobody?

Yes just take the internet connection LAN/WAN on the PC and the LAN for the xbox 360  and create a network bridge and allow network sharing.

Anytime the PC is up the xbox will access the router. I would suggest going into the xbox and setting it to a static IP with your router's DNS address so that it doesn't flake out every few days.
