Hello.

My friend wants me to replace his DVD drive in his xbox 360 as it won't spin discs. My research has shown me that there is a trick to getting the machine to recognize the drive as the drive is married to the motherboard. Can someone point me in the right direction?   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Questions-

1) He plays online alot, will replacing the optical drive with a new one cause the console to be modded in the sense that affects online play?

2) Really, how difficult is it? I had it apart and that was relatively easy, with a tutorial, so just wondering if getting the drive recognized is difficult.

The basic plan is to get a new drive off eBay.
