I noticed the plastic grill tip up there, but this can be done even easier. Make sure you are in a dark room, light the side of the Xbox and look by the upper holes close to the grill, if you position yourself and focus your eyes (or one of them) you can see the inductors even more clearly, without having to remove anything.

Got a Costco bundle couple of days ago.

The box had 203W, but the actual PSU inside has 175W on it, so it is definitely Falcon.

Drives are still loud.

This might be off topic, but are the 175w power supplies designed any better?  My 203W PS fan is already starting to make noises when it runs, so I'll likely have to take it apart and do the heatsink thing soon.

Just got an Arcade pack to replace my third freaking system. Thank god I didnt get another wired controller!! Damn glad I got the three year replacement plan with Best Buy cause this is getting old.

Anyways, Box said 203w and the power brick is a 203w. Opened system, and its a falcon no doubt. Now, I've heard a few places that M$ says not to use the 203w brick with the falcon. If true then its a crock of shit that my falcon came with a 203w brick. I love my 360, but M$ really needs to get their act together.

BEWARE!! This comes with a 0079FL Hitachi Drive which are not easily moddable. I just bought one and apparently my luck ran out and I didn't get a Sammy like I was hoping. You're gunna need the Maximus Passkey chip to be able to mod the firmware.

Very few falcons come with Hitachis, most are Benqs. Good luck on getting a Samsung in a new box, since they haven't been puting those in 360s for months wink.gif .

Plus Samsungs are awfully loud. One of my 360s has a Samsung, and it sounds like a jet that's about to take off. I bought a falcon elite recently and it came with a BenQ. Soooo much quieter. I've also had 2 hitachi drives prior to getting the elite, because I originally bought a Pro system (exchanged in hope to get a BenQ and then again because again for the BenQ and I decided to upgrade to 120GB)

Well I got a 360 Elite for Christmas and want to know if i have the Falcon or Zephyer.

From what i am reading these are the things why i am leaning towards i have Falcon:
Its quiet (super quiet)
BenQ Drive
New Holiday Bundle thing with Forza and Marvel game (must be newer...right?)
Team Fdou
Lot 0729
IF (major IF) im lookng at the right thing: i see 2 things laying down.

Why i think its Zephyer:
Abnormal Date for a Falcon (7/17/07)
203W 47-63Hz 100-127Vac

I know that launch date sounds weird but when I got the 360 out of the box i could tell it has been opend since the back doesnt looked clamped all the way (i can gaurantee it isnt used) and instead of one sticker saying the team and lot # i have another on top of that saying Team TMEM. So that makes me think Microsoft took it apart and put it back together with Falcon instead.

WHAT DO YALL THINK? What else should i look for (i am not opening it) blink.gif

lot 738
Arcade Version
It came with a 203W brick but after opening and flashing I can say for sure it has a BenQ drive and the Falcon board as it is missing one of those things whatever they are.

capacitors...

Where did you get this console like?
It is pretty old, nearly a year, all the new ones got the Lite On drive...

If you're talking about the copper-wound green circles to the right of the CPU, they're inductors.
