hello everyone. like most of us here my xbox 360 too just crashed and was having problems pullin up a specific error code pertaining to the 3 ring of lights error.
according to the sticky on 360 secondary error codes, i turn the 360 on and let the lights flash. then hold the sync button on the controller and then hit and hold the eject button to start reading the code and so on for the entire code. i cant seem to retrieve any codes. i let the 360 flash then when i hold the sync button the controller it looks as tho its tryin to sync with my 360, even tho it already is. maybe im doing something wrong, thats why im posting.
quick over view of the whole prob. playin halo 3 matchmaking. 360 locks up just before game starts so i let it sit there locked up for a bit hoping it will come back. no go. i turn the console off and restart, now the 360 freezes at the 360 logo. i take the hdd off and seems to boot fine. after a couple more attempts of starting the 360 with the hdd connected, i get an error screen displaying an E79, hdd error. so i play with the 360 without the hdd testing to see if it works fine. not long after it starts freezing all over the dash and at startup. at one point it started up to one flashing light, hardware failure, with no hdd attached. now with or without the hdd attached it just gives the 3 light error, no booting at all, no video... nothing.
im looking for some help with retrieving the secondary error codes to narrow down my problems. if anyone sees a prob with what im doing please let me know. in the mean time ima be scoring the forums looking for more answers. appricate any help someone might be able to give me.
