Save Information On Hdd

Of course I just paid the $12.00 for the halo 3 maps and got them on my hard drive. Now my xbox has 3rod and I have the best buy replacement warranty so I will be exchanging it for another one. My question is there a way to keep the maps so I'm not stuck paying another $12.00? Is DLC connected to my gamertag?
