I've been searching around and have found similar DVD tray, game crash issues .. but I haven't found much involving this:

I'll be playing a backup or retail game, the game will crash to the XBOX 360 dashboard, the tray will reading "Opening" and the green eject light is flickering.  It happens randomly.  I hit eject and the tray pops out slightly then goes back in, stays in "Opening" state after reading. (it actually reads "Opening", not Open Tray)
I'll also add that the DVD tray does not easily eject when there is no game in the tray.  If there is a game in the tray, it ejects no problem.  I've heard this is rubber band related, but could my drive motor be going as well?

This box has a M25 iXtreme flash .. no problems playing any games, no error codes .. just the problem described above.

Is this strictly hardware related, or should I bother reflashing the drive?

I have exactly the same problem!!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
I also have the samsung ms25 with xtreme 5.2...
If anyone knows a possible solution to this,please post a reply
