after about 5 adjustments (tightness, number of washer etc) I got it up and running  laugh.gif  (so far hehe) so I ended up pulling both heat syncs back off, removing the paste, reaplying a MUCH smaller amount. Then put it all back together with gpu:one wash on top, two on bottom, cpu same thing. Im pretty stoked I got this working. I hope it stays working. I wanna keep it and use it as my main console for at least a week or two so I know it works before I re-sell.
the only other prob with it for now is the DVD drive is pretty darn loud.  but it loaded a game just fine. It could just be beacuse I have the case all opened up, and the dvd drive is opened up, it just has a flat peice that goes across to hold the cd down (it was in a clear case)

Good to hear you go it working again.

I suggest doing some cooling mods to lessen the chances of getting 3rlod.  At least do the fan shroud mod (which is easy and free) if you don't want to put extra money into the console.

yeah will deffinatly doing the fan shroud mod. and taping it all up on the outside, I cant beleive how much gaps are all around the fan shroud, the heatsyncs have to be losing alot of the air that should be going through them.
