hello,

Despite a lot of bad things about the intercooler,i desided and just big fat buy one. I must say that i bought it from a shop whitch the boss told me that he has sold a lot of them, and none of them had problems. Also i bought the edition that is similar to the intercooler EX (the one with the steel plug),it is the same on,just with a different name.

BEFORE, i got the cooler installed, the xbox was running really hot, i could feel it.

NOW, with the cooler installed, the xbox is really running cool, it is only very very little warm in the middle(i suppose the CPU/GPU is there), behind the cooler is blowing large amounts of hot air constantly. Also when i got the cooler, i raised the xbox buy an inch(i have it standing) so it could get air from the bottom.

Is it possible that i could still get a red ring of death? or was i suppose to get it right away?

I think it is impossible to get overheated now, since it is constantly cool.

It is still possible to get the 3 rings at least it was on my Xbox 360 but when I checked the secondary code it said it was a power supply problem (0001).  I didn't think anything of it thinking I was going to have to get another power supply but it worked better when I removed it from the surge protector and plugged it into the wall.  A couple of days later it started doing it again.  I started taking off the HD and the wireless adapter but it still gave me the 3 rings.  I finally removed the Nyko Intercooler 360 and have not had a problem since.  I hope this helps you.

I personally have seen 2 intercoolers after a couple of months start making all kinds of noise.  They do make the system a bit louder.  Personally i think that the talismoon fans are a better choice, have never used the XCM high speed fans,  Is there anyone out there that has them and could lend us there opionion on them?

Get rid of the Intercooler.

I finally ditched my Intercooler in favor of this: http://www.monkeyjunkie.com/product/18779/928/628/G8681.html

It's just like the Intercooler, but runs of it's own 12v power supply. Plus it's cheaper, and IMO Intec is a much better company as far as quality is concerned.

The XCM fans killed my dvd drive so I wouldn't recommend them, but I have read that others haven't had a problem. I also know someone who has had the intercooler for years without a probelm. I have never heard any complaints about Talismoon fans though, so those seem like your best option.
