Dvd Drive Swap.

so my friend has a console, that wont read 360 games, but will read dvd's fine. i understand i can buy a new drive, and spoof it if its samsung, or swap the keys if it is a hitachi (the orig is a hitachi). how difficult would it be to save this 360? and what would u say his 360 is worth so i cna give him an offer?
