i have ordered new DVD Rom MS25 and the Sales person aske me for Existing Drive Key so i dont know what that he mean

any one tell me plz if its important to fined this Drive Key to use new DVD-Rom with my 360

I don't get it. If you ordered the drive, why is the person you're buying it from asking for the key?

Anyway, you find the Drive Key by reading the firmware, and opening in Firmware Toolbox.

So its by defult any other DVD-Rom will working with 360 ?

By default any other 360 drive will NOT work in any other 360. The 'key' on the drive has to match the key on the motherboard. If the key is not changed on the new drive so it's the same as the old drive, the new drive will only be able to play CDs and DVD movies, games will not work unless the key is the correct one.

did you mean that if im not make any modifed or changed in the old drive and motherboard so new orignal drive will work with crunt motherboard ?

You must have the new drive worked on before it can work in the 360 properly. If you damaged your old drive by doing the VCC trick it will have to be looked at by someone that knows what they are doing.

Original drive + Original motherboard = Good, plays all

New drive + Original motherboard = NO Good, will only play CDs and DVD movies, NO Games will play from the DVD drive. The 'key' needs to be taken from your Original drive and injected into the new drive, that way the New drive will 'act' like the Original drive. The New drive may need to be Spoofed as well if it is a different make/model from the Original drive so the 360 'thinks' it's the same as the Original drive.

is there any way to read the CHIP that contain the drive key with external device and get the key from orignal drive ?

Yes, as long as the chip is still good. It has to be removed from the board first (the SST 39SF020A chip) and then you can use the Willem programmer to dump the chip and read the key from it with FWToolBox.

this is my plcc32 and im not sure if its looking good or not to send somewhere to check it and recover my drivekey

Can't tell anything from those pics. If you're in the US PM me about extracting the FW from it, if you are not in the US post in the Modchip Installers / Firmware Flashers forum and see if someone closer to ya can do it.

Finally i read my chip PLCC32 with PCB 4.5 and get corrected file 256 kb but when try to open it with FTW its not open and give me run time erroe '6'

how to fix this problem

What is FTW? Do you mean FWToolBox? If you do not, then use FWToolBox, v4.5 is the newest version, see if that will open the file so you can get the key from it. Make sure you have M$ DotNet 2.0 installed also.

If FWToolBox is what you are using and it's not opening the file then check to make sure all of the connections on the PLCC32 are making good contact with the socket on the programmer, it may be dumping it incorrectly and you are getting a corrupt read of the FW.
