New Xbox360, Should I Replace Thermal Paste?
« on: October 24, 2007, 10:20:00 PM »

I just got an Xbox360, it has the extra heatsinks with the pipes. I don't know if I should still worry about the rrod, so do you think I should do any mods to prevent it like changing the crappy thermal paste MS puts on? Don't worry about voiding the warranty, I was able to get BANNED from the forums for this original sentence. I'm not sure if changing the thermal paste requires taking off the x-clamps. If I should do it can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial that instructs me how to do it? I've only been able to find tutorials on replacing the x-clamps AFTER you've gotten the rrod, and you have to heat your xbox so the solder rejoins itself with the heat. I'm just looking for preventative instructions for your console.
