i recently bought a modded 360 w/ halo3..im new at this..but when i insert gears of war or any other 360 original game it would say please insert to a 360 console..so i just yanked the dvd tray out of the 360 and shoved it back in the 360 lol..i dont have have patience..but i would like to were can i buy a new dvd drive?..

ya... the dvd key that has to match the console. So unless you can get the key of your busted drive your screwed. If you do get the key you can buy 360 drives from ebay.

the dvd rom drive works cause in the dashboard you can hit open tray..how can i extract the dvd key from my original dvd rom and then put it on another?..thanks for the help (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

dump the firmware and open it with toolbox

but if your 360 is asking you to insert into 360 console the keys gone without it you cant play games only dvd's

Opening and closing the tray only means...that it opens and closes. That doesn't mean that it "works" - obviously it doesn't work (correctly) since none of your games work. Go to the DVD-ROM forum.
