Strange Problem
« on: October 21, 2007, 02:55:00 PM »

So, I had fixed my 360 (X Clamp) in June, its been rock solid until today. Today it froze 3 times in a row (screen didn't budge). So, the fourth time I turned it on something weird happened. The 360 seemed to start, but there was no video or audio coming to the TV. I shut it off, restarted the 360, same. No video or sound, but no Red Lights yet.

Should I open it up again and tight the screws, add new thermal paste, etc?

I opened it all up, and turned it on with no fans (no other changes). It went from a frozen 3 ROD to 2 red lights in a matter of 2 minutes. I turned it back on and its working fine, though I have the whole upper part opened. One question, since I guess I'll have to do some changes to the fix later in the week, can I close the system up, and not put the screws back? Right now the motherboard is in its casing with no screws, can I close it up without having to put back ALL the screws except the large ones that hold the upper case?
