Very Strange Problem With Xbox 360 Usb Controller

Ok so, I have an Xbox 360 USB controller which I liked to use when playing emulators and such, and I also have a Plantronics DSP-400 USB headset which I use everyday without fail.

But these two devices seem to hate each other very much, for example.
If I'm using the headset then plug in the 360 controller, the Headset sound becomes VERY distorted, and the only way to fix it is to uninstall both devices and only reinstall the headset, which means no using the 360 controller. At first I thought it was to do with the Controller's headset drivers, but uninstalling only them made no difference.

I have tried every possible thing I can think of driver wise, the headset is P&P anyway.

Anyone else had problems like this? Or can anyone help me fix it?
