Unreadable Disc Error - New Console!
« on: September 17, 2007, 02:11:00 PM »

Brand new console, maybe 5 hours logged on it by an adult. When i flashed the firmware, it won't read the backup i made of my Medal of Honor game. I know the disc is fine as it ran on my previous console i had (exchanged it due to 3 rings of death). I tried the laser pot adjustments, i tried both the fast/slow firmwares, i tried a combination of firmware + pot adjustments..nothing works...5 mins in the game i get the dreaded disc unreadable error..Backing up my games are important to me as i have two small children in my home who are STILL learning how NOT to scratch the discs..

Would you guys think it's Motherboard related, or should i just buy a new drive from ebay?

It's a Samsung drive. MS28
discs used are Fujifilm dvdr-DL (worked flawlessly with my previous console for 2 years)
tried a few other dvdr-dl that are good known discs...same results

Warranty voided due to me opening up the case.

Kam!

retail games & retail dvd's do the same thing..once the machine warms up (approx 5 mins) it stops playing the dvd's (disc unreadable).

So... You've turned in a 360 that obviously had the warranty voided to get a warranty repair or replacement from somewhere? That's fraud, don't care what M$ told ya or how it all played out, until they put it down in black and white and start treating all modded consoles (or otherwise warranty voided machines) as the same as people with genuine warranties that paid for it by not opening their consoles and getting their dik fingers in there, what was done was illegal, more so if they're the ones that did it.
