Mine was hung up for some reason, been working fine after that.

Did you use a multimeter to adjust the Ohms?

If this is a Hitachi drive, the motor in that thing likes to get full of crud and it will not spin the disc up, so you'll get that error. If the spindle motor seems to spin freely or it's a Samsung drive, then give the laser a good cleaning, but I'd suspect you should look into getting a replacement laser now.

@ xtbloodbx - Have a look or post in the 360 B/S/T section of the forums, you'll probably find a good one in there before long.

@ dizzin9 - The Samsung and Hitachi drives both use the exact same laser, so it's not just the laser that is at fault, though it's not the best one ever made either. Samsung drives are noted for being some of the best/worst or worst/best drives around, depending on how ya look at it. How many people have an original XBOX with a Samsung that the tray sticks on it now and then, a lot, I've even got one. Point is it's not just the Samsung drives that are screwy, the Hitachi drives have their own fair share of the problems as well, but ya can't point to the laser being at fault when it's identical across both drives, though I do agree completely that M$ pushed this thing out the door way too fast.

I'd have waited another year for it gladly if they would have 'ironed out' the problems before releasing it, and still preferred it over other systems because the games are really good. When the thing works it's great, but it's no fun playing a really good game waiting for the thing to freeze up or 3RLOD on ya at all, and that puts a big downer on the 360, worst (probably more like non) tested console ever released.

My toshiba/samsung drive reads old xbox games just fine including dvd/cds. The only thing it cant read is 360 games which are Dual Layer i think, in which case my drive needs to speed up to read the 360 game but for some reason it will not go faster and it just makes a weird noise and then it slows down again and i get the error. Would you say this is an issue with the internal motor of the drive?
