Yep, you've got to download and install the codecs from the mplayer site. It's mentioned in the docs for xbmc somewhere. My 3ivx mov's work just fine!

those codecs have NOTHING to do with 3ivx.  Depending on the 3ivx varient it may or may not play.

The only dll's working in xbmc are real media/audio, and windows media video.

what kind of problems are you having?

i have a "backup" of LOTR I in 3ivx and it plays, but badly...pic is nice & audio is good, but the pic jumps & stutters every few seconds....annoying & unwatchable

been holding off deleting from HDD hoping a miracle "fix" would come out  :D

Hi,

Go here and download the essential codec package. Don't ask me how you decompress them but if you're using a mac like me, it should do it for you.

The files you'll get. have to be installed into the XBMC/Mplayer/Codec directory.

I did this, and all my .mov 3ivx files work perfectly. No stuttering ... just the occasional discolouration band across the top of the screen.

Franton.
