Technically, it has a digital output, the HDMI out. I'm assuming that their reasoning stems from the way that most people set up their systems, run the HDMIs from the components into the TV, then run the audio from the digital output of the TV to your receiver. You're essentially using the HDTV as an audio selector, after all, most of the HDMI content needs the TV to be on anyways.

The part that I don't like about it is the fact that they put connectors on all four sides. Where can this thing sit aesthetically without having to tuck cords around 1 side or the other? They should have put all of the connections in the back like every other component out there, They obviously went for the cheap alternative, which will end up hurting them in the end.

Yeah ur right, i dont see a DVI out either. And the all 4 sides connections is a bit dumb. I dont like XCM, sick of their poor chinese made products. Who really needs 4 HDMI inputs anyway?!? My Samsung 40" lcd has one, and i dont even use it. If i needed more, i'd simply hook one of the inputs over component instead. HDMI isnt that good.

This box is useless (to me).

I concur even if the audio is passed through to the hdmi output, it would be useful if it had a seperate digital output. They obviously took the time to put analog inputs and outputs, they really didn't put this through the R&D department. Let's wait for the price, a comparable switch would go for about 150-200. If it beats that then we got something to look at..

How about a product with component and digital audio in, an upscaling chip, and HDMI out? Then it would be worth it.

Using my super-scientific Polltron 2000™, I've determined that 95% of XCM's products announced on this site have nothing but gripes and complaints directed towards them. Who is it that's buying these things that encourages XCM to keep making inferior products?

Does this mean it does DVI>HDMI conversion? As in analog DVI>HDMI? If so, then that would be the only use to this thing that I see. If my TV did 1080p over HDMI, and there was no lag, then I'd get it, provided it's cheap.

DVI-D and HDMI are the same they just use different connectors.
DVI-A is the same as VGA and RBG.
DVI-A only uses 4 pins in the connector.
This box won't convert DVI-A to HDMI.

Finally, someone who knows what they're talking about!

Distribs that demand the lowest price possible who are willing to sacrifice quality for a larger margin.

Plus, they already have their own brand on the side, therefore if XCM is willing to shit on itself they will simply clean it up later though a different name.

Is it just me or is there only 1 digital video output? The description says HDMI and DVI out, but I only see HDMI out. Unless they are talking about using a HDMI to DVI converter.

Look at the first picutre, bottom right.  DVI-D.  Although what is the point if the 360 won't let you select 1080p anyways, it will just be crappily upscaled, if even that...

Well it kind of does. They use an adapter to go from HDMI to DVI-D.
That adapter can be used as a input or output.
This is just a connector change, no signals are being connverted.
