just a quick thought i bought the xbox off play.com at christmas so i still have warranty with them and i have heard all the bad stories about microsofts support team so i was wondering would i be able to send my 360 to play.com and get a new one in return? unsure.gif

I would send it back... it is a mechanical failure...

If you open it up.. and you can't fix it then you just voided your warranty..

MS was sending back your own unit if they can so that downloaded content works properly.

Send it in ... I usually have much better results when dealing with the retailer for returns as opposed to the manufacturer. Though online retailers can be a pain to deal with

Research play.com's return policy... the MS policy is fairly well known, decide which one suits your needs better.
