High Load / Stress On Gpu And Cpu
« on: June 27, 2007, 07:11:00 AM »

Playing a WMV file wont do it... the console actually goes into a lower power mode and is probably even LESS stress than if you just let it sit idling. '

Any game where the graphics are so intense that they start to stutter or has tearing will be putting the maximum stress on the GPU... those things happen when the GPU gets tapped out and can't keep up with what the software is demanding.

moving to hardware chat, this doesn't belong in AV.

Rainbow Six Vegas too. Someone already mentioned GoW, so there no need for me to say that.

thank you all for your replies.

the problem i am faced with is that we are testing over 40 units at a time ... so setup with games is a difficult task.

What we have done for now is put sport games that play actual GAME demos not just videos playing in the systems to ensure they wont overheat.. and weed out the ones that do.

how long would be a safe bet to ensure the GPU and CPU are thoroughly "heated"
