Error Code 0102 = GPU Connection to the mother board
(GPU has a part of it raised up off the mother board)
(The "Front/Right" and "Rear/Left" of the GPU has a bad connection to the mother board)

What do you mean with "Front/Right" and "Rear/Left" ? What is your front/rear, right/left on the board?
Thanks!!

Here is a picture of the way that I heat the GPU and the CPU. I use two Xbox 360 cases with the top wrapped in tin foil (to keep it from melting the plastic of course). I position it so that I have a clear shot of the complete underside of the GPU and the CPU. The weight on top of the GPU and the CPU is four nuts that I have wrapped in tin foil (again the reason for the tin foil is that I am trying to keep as much heat off the top of the board as possible) The nuts add up to be 4.4 ounces. I have put more weight before but it is too much as this seems to be perfect.

Here is a picture of my setup. As far as the distance from the chip, I have the heatgun about one inch from the chips as I heat.

Woah, the heatgun is 1 inch from the cpu/gpu, this seem a bit extreme. How long do you keep the gun there? thanks

Hello guys,

Well there is a pretty nice amount of valuable information here! Thank to all the one participating.

Let me explain what I have on my side. I just got an error 74. this happened after seeing green bars on the screen when playing GTR3.

The sub error code is 1022 so no more help on this side. Y checked the cables witching from my VGA to the Component cable (which I almost never used) , I revised the cable with a multimeter too and all good so this is definitely on the box side.

My box is out of warranty (1.5 years of good service) so the CS want 100 to repair which I would prefer to put on a new "falcon" box adding 150 more dollars.

I opened the xbox and ll seems ok inside. before trying what Aubrey recommends (4.4pounds on the ANA chip and heating from bellow, I want to know if I should check something else.

Let me know

Heating the chip from below really doesn't make very much sense as far as SMT components go, especially with the nature of the Xbox 360 motherboard. Also, I've found that E74 errors relate more to GPU bad connections than to actual ANA problems. I'm not ruling out the possibility, but the ANA is not a concentrated area of high heat BGA chip, it's an SMT IC. The chances of it having a problematic connection are far lower then that of the GPU.
