Topic: 3 Red Lights - Error 0021 (Read 103 times)

Well I just did Xclamp GPU replacement, and still get the 3 lights, and error 0021.

I have no idea what to try next, maybe just send it in and get it fixed.

yea board beenign reflowed yea tht will mostly fix the problem good

As long as your case isn't butchered they'll fix it. Take off the RAM heat sinks first though. My buddy sent in his 3rlod system for repair - one that I modded for him, and the case had obviously been opened - they fixed it for free, no questions asked.

Just tell them there was a disc stuck inside or something, and put your X-Clamps back on. You should probably put your original firmware back on as well. They'll probably put a not in your box saying it's been tampered with, but if it's still under warranty, there's a very good chance they'll fix it for free.

so basically flashing the drive will allow you to play backup games?

why dont people just rent them or buy them?

dont they ban you for having a flashed drive on xbox live?

First dont bump a topic thats nearly a year old!
Well, people on here better buy and own the games they backup as they will otherwise get banned...
It is assumed that people got banned for using bad backups which either had bad or no stealth files at all(SS,DMI,PFI)
They didnt attempt to read the firmware anymore since the time before this topic has even been started...

Just for curiosity, to reflow the southbridge and the gpu , do i need what kind of reflow machine ? No tutorial to reflow???

what is the process of reflowing the board anyways?

plus, couldnt you just flash the drive again? even if its a bad flash anyways? or whatever the problem is...

had my first 0021 today and after reading the forums i was a bit sceptic.

I tried disconnecting the DVD drive to see if it was DVD timeout but the error code was still present. I did X-Clamp replacement as I normally would.

Error code had changed from 0021 to 0020, ( still 3 red lights ) turned the Xbox on with fan connected ASWEL as the white shoot to cool the CPU, I blocked the GPU so that it overheated for 15 minutes - so hot i couldnt touch it. - the fan on the CPU kept it cool and stopped it from going to 2 red lights.

Left the Xbox to cool down for 15 minutes and powered it up again - its now working fine, this is the same method I use to fix all 3 red lights and i was suprised it worked for the 0021, anyway just thought i'd share it with you.

glad it works for you. hope you can find a way to stop this from happening so you dont have to keep overheating your gpu area. if you figure it out please share.

I only forced it to overheat to "theoretically" try and reflow , not sure how much of an effect this had if any but it was only over heating for 15 mins - hopefully shouldnt have to do it again
