Would just like to say KIDDERBOOTS you are brilliant..

Son's Xbox 360 died a death last week. My other half and i had tried taking it apart and cleaning the CPU and GPU and reapply silver thermal paste and although we had it working a couple of times, within 20 mins it would switch off. Then the graphic on the screen began to have lines across it... we were about to try again when we found a post showing how to get the error code and find out exactly what was wrong.

Got the RAM error code of E20 (0110). Thought that was it and there was no hope.

Then i came across this trick on a google search. Can't believe this has thread has been running nearly 3 yrs..lol

Decided to give it ago and OMG it works.!!!!!! my son's Xbox is now worth 12p more than before and so far he has been playing for 30 mins no problem...which isn't long but is a record since the 3RROD last week.  biggrin.gif

So to KIDDERBOOTS ... love.gif  love.gif

You have helped put a smile back on my sons face..smile.gif i will update over time with how long it lasts..THANK YOU SO MUCH..smile.gif

Well i got an xbox360 from my brother in law... RROD... knew it was and figured i would look around to see what i could do to fix it. I have tried many ideas from this forum.. I have done the penny trick twice.. with 2 on each and then with 4 on each. Also have tried the x bracket fix. I am at a stand still nothing seems to fix the issue. (possible dead xbox360 i take it.) it was MFRed in 08.. But i will send pictures if need be.. One thing that i have noticed after doing what i have done.. the Light on the power adapter has went from green to yellow and now is red. So i dont know if there is more issues with it. Any Help would be great. Thanks in advance for any ideas.




Edit: 3 pennies on each not 4.. Noticed that i wrote that after i posted lol

I got a 360 from my cousin and it rrod 3 days later imm gonna try this i just have to buy some electric tape and im good to go ill let you know how it goes biggrin.gif

This will not work!

It will temporarily by adding more stress to the motherboard, however this added stress will come back to bite you in the ass later!

You are only making the problem worse.  Send it into a professional, or do a proper fix yourself.
