Failed To Read Cluster Chain Map
« on: May 21, 2007, 02:22:00 AM »

Lo folks, hope someone here can help as I've searched the net with no results.

I have a 360 Hard drive here that I'm trying to format, however it doesn't seem to want to. The xbox can see the drive ok, and will let me access the format menu and enter the serial and it comes up formatting, stays there for around 10 seconds and goes back to the menu.

When trying to access the drive through xplorer 360, it gives me an error "failed To Read Cluster Chain Map" but it will let me see 2 partitions but not the third.

Anyone have any ideas or possibly had the same problem ??

Don't think so, this drive was returned to me with a core system from M$. I don't want to phone them about it again as it shouldn't have been sent in the first place lol.

Try formatting it on another console and see if the contacts of the connector are clean.
