I have a TS ms28 drive which I flashed with the xtreme firmware. A couple weeks ago a buddy of mine was drunk and sleeping on my couch, he got up in the middle of the night and pissed on the floor right next to my xbox. The xbox was damp in the morning and he cleaned it off for me, and the xbox powered on and seemed to play games all right. After a while it seemed like backups would load slower than normal, even read at 12x (but this could be my imagination) just today my xbox has stopped working completely. It recognizes original xbox 360 games as DVD movies and plays the "insert this disc into..." video when I try to play them. All other discs I tried (DVD movies, backup xbox 360 games, original xbox 1 games) are not recognized at all. When inserted the dashboard just continues to give the "open tray" option. I have opened up my box again and tried using compressed air to dust off the drive as well as the rest of the components. The drive was working just yesterday, I was able to play the Halo 3 beta using a backup of a crackdown disc. I was worried that possibly microsoft had remotely bricked my box, but after spending all day on the forums I found no evidence that MS was doing anything but block access to live.
Hopefully someone on these forums with much more technical knowledge than I can help diagnose the problem. What, in your opinion, is the most likely cause of my problems?
A) A late reaction to the urine on the system
