does the Final release use XViD or FFmpeg?

i read a thread a while back about how to get XBMC to use FFmpeg as the default instead of XViD

i've been searching but can't find the thread

can someone help me out here?

Read the readme.txt that comes with v1.0. It's documented there.

hmmmph, i "assumed" they were using XViD cuz since upgrading to 1.0, my FF is not working so well again...2X, 4X ok, but won't go any faster, and/or vid freezes while FF'ing...was working OK in 6/25 build though

when they first switched from XViD to FFmpeg a few CVS builds ago, i was able to get up to 32x, just like in the ol' days (ie. few months ago)

Xvid was causing major stuttering with a large proportion of encodes, more details are on xboxmedicenter's forum if you want to know why.

Because of this the decoder had to be switched back to ffmeg.
