my nephew updated his box when he tried to play brian lara. now his box will not boot up all he gets is 3 red lights. ive tried to reflash his drive with new firmware but it just hangs there. ive tried using a enable 0800 disc with no joy. i even tried my drive to see if i was doing it wrong but it worked first time. as i cant get his box to boot up i cant see what error code comes up. any ideas. thanx

no , most likely pure coincidence. there has been no reports of other situation like that.
There are always 3rlod that happen everyday. If that day is close after an update then people tend to link the two which I guess is normal. But 3rold is hardware.

Probably would have happened anyway and just the good old defective GPU soldering again. check the X-clamp replacement tutorial, it seems it has saved many.
