Dvd Drive Constantly Opens

My dvd drive made a funky noise and when i ejected the disc i can no longer even put a disc in the drive.  The drive closes then opens, i close it, it opens.  Nothing is hitting the button.  Anyone know.  Its a hitatchi v78 drive flashed.

No now it wont spin at all.  It stays shut but wont tspin any disk.  My problem is i cant get the drive back in mode b and during the same time my hard drive crashe.d   I need to get the drive back in mode b to get the key off it but i cant put in an original to check the key!  anyone have an idea?
