im soo scared the light on the power brick went red so i disconnected it and i reconnected it and it went to the amber color so i hooked the powercord to my 360. i got 2 right rings and its not listed in the error codes....
it will not turn on.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME...I CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER 360 AND IT HAS BEEN OPENED BEFORE......

IVE HAD THE FANS RUNNING AT 12V AND THE AURORA'S BUT ITS BEEN RUNNING FINE UNTILL I ACIDENTLY CROSS THE (-) WIRE WITH THE (+) WIRE AND THEN IT SHUT OFF AND NOW I GET 2 RIGHT RINGS AND IT WONT TURN ON

EVEN THO MY 360 WONT TURN ON....THE SOUTH BRIDGE IS SO HOTT IT IS BURNING MY FINGER...NOTHING ELSE IT WARM OR HOT....RAM,CPU,GPU AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS NOT HOT..

i dont understand.....overheating is 2 left rings and i got 2 right rings...the cpu is not hot the gpu is not hot the ram is not hot.....just the southbridge

Typing in caps lock on forums is seen as shouting, which is rude. So stop it. Also you should be much more detailed as to what happened. Just saying 'ACIDENTLY CROSS THE (-) WIRE WITH THE (+) WIRE' doesn't explain much.

Get a meter and check all these spots for the correct voltage usually the one with the yellow is the one that goes pop when wires are crossed

sorry about the caps.....ok this is wht happened i was trying to hook up leds to the led fader and the 12v wire tht came from the psu crossed with the fader wire,.....(this is hard to explain ill put a pic on here....

see..stupid ass me tied the positve wire and the negative wire from the psu wire and then somehow the fader wire touched it and i didnt see it because i was too busy setting up the leds...and then of coarse i turned the 360 on then the psu went red.

1.could it be the psu?
2.if it is the psu, then y is there 2 right rings of death?
3.wht are the effects of a psu when it goes?
4.how do u kno if it is the mobo or the psu?
