Did RBJTech's fix on Monday, and it worked like a charm. First time turning on after the x-replacement didn't work, still gave me RROD. I Unplugged the fans and let it heat up in order to even the solder. Booted right up afterwards and has been going fine since. I got my 360 off ebay for 120 bucks with a controller. Got a real sweet deal thanks to RBJ! Thanks a ton, my friend!

Fixed 3 RLOD worked fine but the fans were spinning insanely fast. I used Lawdawg's method.
Then someone told me that the cpu and the heat sink weren't getting proper contact so I took off a washer and it froze twice now back to 3 RLOD.

I just fixed my RROD console using Lawdawgs method. Been hammering on it for the last 6 hours, and its still going strong. No freezing either.

I used the parts list for Lowes, and the parts were perfect and easy to find, so thanks goes to the peeps who put in the time to list the part numbers.

Anyway, I cannot be more impressed by this method, as it was easy to do, and cost like $5. Thanks LawDawg!   beerchug.gif

EDIT: Original Error code was 0102.

Fixed my error code 0020 box! RBJTech's MK III Method Much  love.gif  !

Did both the cpu and the gpu (added a shim,) on the first boot my code 0020 turned into a 0102.
The tutorial i was using said not to overheat the GPU but no matter how many times I rebooted it it was still
0102. So I overheated the GPU with the method from llamma.com for 10 min, let it cool for 15 and bingo!
Dashboard goodness  biggrin.gif
Its been going for 3 hours now 1 on dash, 1 sitting at GOW menu, and 1 playing GOW with no issues.
the exaust seems hotter then before but that could be just better cooling from the AS5 right?

I'll edit this post if it displays any probs, cheers.

After roughly 2 solid years (mfr - 2006-02-05) of nearly issue free gaming my xbox finally rrod (0020) and died on the 27th.

Determined to have it working again before gta4, I used RBJtechs method, and spent all day with one of the worst hangovers ever and a fumingly angry mood working on it.

Had to use a shim on the gpu and three-penny tricks under the ram sinks, but its working now and ive been playing on it for about 15+ hours, almost constantly.

Add me to the success list!

Thanks for helping everyone out!
