Uk Hard Drive On A Japanese 360?

HI, I was wondering if anyone could help me, I am planning on buying a Japanese xbox360 but without a hard drive but i already have a UK 360 with a hard drive, could i just swap the hard drive to my Japanese console so i can play online with my XBOX LIVE account? I'm not too sure if it would be compatible.

I'm pretty sure all the hard drives are the same. You should just be able to swap it over and everything should work. I don't think saves are region-coded.

OK thanks, that is good to know but when i do swap the hard drive it won't affect any of my saves and when it does an auto update for the console (even though i know it flashes it to the console afterwards) it won't break the HD.

The only reason i asked is because on this site it has different hard drives but i suppose that is just for language purposes. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-eo-49-en.html
