Psu Problems And Red Ring Of Death
« on: January 28, 2007, 08:35:00 AM »

has any 1 had a problem like this before.

after 4 days of use my 360 crashed and three red lights came up (top-left, bottom-left and bottom-right), i then went to check the hidden error codes and the screen was dead.

/ \   / \   / \   / \
\ /   \ /   \ /   .  /   0003
(dose any 1 know what they mean)

when i tried to turn the consol back on again this what happened.

before i pressed the power-on button the psu led would be orange. when i turned on the consol the psu light would go green for a second and then go back to orange and the 3 red lights would start flashing. The led gose green for 1 second and in this time i can sense the consol wants to start as i can hear the fans starting to turn.

i then phoned xbox 360 user support line and they sent me out a new psu. when the psu finaly came in the post i thought this would of solved the problem. BUT IT NEVER

the problem was still the same, i press button-psu light gose green for sec-then gose orange-consol dies.

I im very curious about whats causing this problem

plz help me! my email is [email protected]

error 0003 is a problem with the regulators for the CPU/GPU, so either the regulators died, or one of those chips fried and died, and is shorted out.

So it's definitely a motherboard issue.

You've used it for four days; assuming that you haven't opened it Microsoft will fix it for free. Call em and arrange to ship it out.

If you mean, 'will MS fix it for me?' The answer is no, they won't touch it. Even if you pay them the 'out of warrenty' fee.
