Has any1 successfully charged an original Microsoft Battery Pack with the cable included in the Datel Play & Charge kit ?? I bought an additional wireless controller on ebay, which had an MS Battery Pack included (but no charging cable) and I tried to charge it with my Datel Charge kit ... no red light and no charging .... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Just wanted to know if the Pack is dead or the datel pack cable is not compatible with the original ...

I don't know from first hand experience, but the cables shouldn't be any different. The battery pack is most likely shot, I have 12 of them here that don't charge up with the original PnC cable and will be tearing into them to see what the deal is.

I'd be interested in seeing the insides of the Datel Cable/Battery as well, compare it to how the original PnC Cable/Battery is setup inside.

its the battery, i use the datel with a microsoft battery and it charged just fine, just go get a new battery

It could also be your battery contacts or the contacts in the controller not making a good enough connection. The 12 batteries I checked here all had corrupt EEPROM data on them, still not sure of the cause yet. I've overwritten them and am seeing how they act now.

Ok .. I was successful in bringing the battery back to life (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

the eeprom of the not working battery seems to have been corrupted .. just as RDC said (thanks man!) ..
i dumped the contents of my working datel battery and flashed that onto the ms pack ... the pack is
now recharged (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
