Can't vouch for the GPU, but you cannot replace the CPU alone.

SMT,

It appears this guy seems to accomplish a reball and get the console working:

How would you reply to this?

I can, but memory will not get trouble too much.
If error was cause of memory, I'm going to do it.
I will focus on HANA and GPU.
GPU will be main problem. GPU got wider area to cause hogging and sacking.
Also more balls to arrange then other.
HANA will be enough reflow with SMT are flow rework station.

Big problem is BGA ball seat on chip was damaged, we can't bring back.
I'm not sure any encrypted information was store on GPU or not.
One GPU was take me about 45 minutes to place balls, re-arrange and sit on GPU by heat.

Yes, I'm using AOYUE 2702A+ rework staion, 4141 nozzel, Aoyue 853A preheat station and flux.
But those are taken from bad MOB, which was doesn't work by reflow. So I decide to take a look at it.
Top side lifted was my fault. I lost concentration and nozzel was touch when hot. Underneath damege was what I found from un-reflowable MOB.
For reballing, I will going to use IR rework station. But price is too high.
At least 100  reballing to recover the cost of station, meterial and workmenship. uhh.gif

I also try to fix the 3 red lights issue. First i try it with a cheap ir machine from china, and now i have a 8.000 eur machine from germany here. But with both machines most of the xbox  didn't work.  Till the reballing step it works all fine, only soldering back the gpu is a very difficult thing. The board is extremely warping, and i have a underheat over the complete board size.

After desoldering the gpu again, it seems that some solder balls are not connected, they are clean as before. And yes, i use flux before i solder back the gpu.

Only three xbox 360 of maybe 25 works after that. Really a bad produce.

Is that, last one was IR or hot air?
Did you using nozzel? Can you tell me solder ball you using is 63/37 or what?
What is your heat profile?

yeah, I would like to know either. If  you have some profile using a heat gun with and without the nozzle, plz share with us. I poped my last GPU because I used a high temp (300ยบ C). I can reball the chipset and the Hana chip, but GPU I wanted to know more informations before screw it up again.

Thanks in advance!   biggrin.gif
