This question may have been asked but I can't seem to find a current topic.  Sorry if it already exists.

I put a disc in my xbox 360 and it won't turn.  A company told me that I need a new dvd player and new motherboard since they're electronically linked.  From reading posts around the internet, that may not actually be the case.  

I want to repair (NO Modding whatsoever) my Xbox 360.  I was hoping somebody could tell me what exactly I need.  I've seen a couple of different posts containing a DVD drive.  Is there some kind of guide that has been written to describe exactly what I need to do?

I don't want to do any hacking (execpt what is required).  All I want to do is play store bought games.  No copying or backing up.

if it is just not playing a disc go spend the 12-24 dollars on a new laser... why would you replace the whole dvd drive over a disc read issue
