Wireless Bridge Settings
« on: June 28, 2004, 05:01:00 AM »

Hey, I've got a situation I figure someone else must have run into at some point.

I have the MS wireless bridge for my Xbox.  When I use the actual MS Dash and the startup disk I can specify what access point to connect to.  However, it just seems to connect to the first available network when I'm booting with Evox.

My problem is I live in an apt where there are 3 neighbors with completely open wireless networks.  The Xbox keeps connecting to Their network, which is bad for me because I need it on my network for my shares to work correctly, and I can't ftp when it is on the other networks.  This makes it extremely frustrating.

Does anyone know a method I can use to prevent this bridge from connecting to the other networks?  Does using the startup disk in the MS dash really restrict what network it will connect to?

Thanks for any insight.

my suggestion, buy a linksys or belkin wireless ethernet bridge, and manually configure it to connect to your secure wireless network.  i have it set up and it works perfectly. =)
