Ms28 Vcc Trick Alternative Solder Points
« on: January 04, 2007, 04:50:00 AM »

Hi guys,

I've got a couple of ms28 boards that have been sent to me, where the pads have been removed while taking the resistor off for the VCC trick.

I know with the top pad (with the board placed so the sata/power sockets are at the top), the thick track above the SST chip can be used as an alternative point.

Is there a similar track for the bottom pad? I know about the round pad next to the SST chip, but that's covered in black glue and my hot air station is 50 miles away.

Alternative tracks on the back of the board would be ideal, if there are any.

Thanks in advance (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The bottom connector on the resistor closest to the SST chip uses the same connection. Just connect it to the bottom of that resistor.

I've done it before and it works fine.
