hi was looking at buying the HD DVD drive addon. but then a m8 started asking me questions i could not answer.

1. whats the point in getting the addon when you can buy a HD dvd player that can record as well for not much more than the xbox addon retails for and will look tider and saves electric because you dont need to have the console running.

2. what stops me dismantaling the addon and sticking it in place of the orignal drive inside the xbox. Eepom?

3. is there any advantages to having the HD dvd addon over buying a stand alone HD DVD player or for that matter a SKY HD box .

2. It would require a mini-atapi to sata adapter and it wouldn't read games.
